Axa Insurance National Herds Competition 2026

The Irish British Friesian Club is delighted to announce the continued support of Axa Insurance for our National Herds Competition. Axa Insurance came on board in 2023 for a three year stint, and it allowed us to fund an international judge each year since then. The last three years saw the competition grow in numbers of herds entering, so we knew we were going to have to have a rethink!

This year, Axa Insurance will back us again as we make progress with this exciting annual club activity. The club committee has agreed that the competition will have two sections, with the international judge judging the senior section, and a club judge judging the junior section. There will be relegation and promotion of one herd in each direction. 

And we have changed the awards presentation - moving to a dedicated awards social night in November.

And the numbers are really after exploding, up to 24 herds this year, 12 in each section. 

The BIG advantage of this competition which only requires entrants to be a member of the club, is the chance to walk around your herd with a fresh pair of eyes dedicated to talking about your cows! What's not to like?
