Why visit? The Dekeana Herd is worth a visit, consistently earning positive comments from the judges of the club's Axa Insurance National Herd's Competition, with Sam winning the judge's choice award in 2024 from Adam Lawson for his commitment and focus on pedigree breeding. The family always support the club's presence at the Iverk Show, and the picture above shows Sam accepting one of may rosettes over the years!

Welcome to the Dekeana Divas – Timed Online Heifer Calf Sale.
We are delighted to present this carefully selected offering of 20 pedigree British Friesian heifer calves from the Dekeana herd, located just outside Templemore, Co. Tipperary. British Friesian cattle have been at the heart of our farming enterprise since the 1970s. Over the decades, we have developed a herd based on a select number of trusted cow families, combining longevity, fertility, production and the true characteristics of the traditional British Friesian.
The herd has been milk recorded since the 1990s, providing generations of performance data on the families represented in this sale. While the herd was fully graded up to pedigree status in 2019, the foundations of these bloodlines have been carefully nurtured over many years. Since 2019, all cows have also been classified, allowing us to further identify and develop the strongest cows and cow families within the herd. The calves on offer come from some of the most influential cow families in Dekeana, including the renowned Lil, Savory and Louise lines. Their pedigrees feature genetics from proven AI sires such as FR2030, KKG, KJY and SVD, while more recent influences include FR8896 and FR4424. A significant contribution has also come from carefully selected stock bulls sourced from the respected Kilsunny, Mountain and Carrickshock herds.
Every calf in this sale is backed by classified and milk-recorded dams, giving buyers confidence in the performance, longevity and reliability of the families represented. Included within the offering are descendants of IHFA Gold and Diamond Award-winning cows, recognising exceptional lifetime performance and cows that have produced in excess of 3,000kg of lifetime protein. All heifers have been genotyped through the National Genotyping Programme and have been vaccinated for IBR and Blackleg.
